↑ Clearscan no longer available in Acrobat DC? by Varinder Saini, Adobe Support Community.↑ Acrobat 9: ClearScan Rocks! by David R.↑ 1.0 1.1 End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier), Adobe Systems.Technical support ended on June 26, 2013. Version 9.5.5 Pro was released on and was the final update.
A workaround is to go to Tools > Edit > Scanned Documents > Settings and then deselect 'Use available system font' under Scanned Document Editing Settings. Sometimes the ClearScan feature may garble text extracted from a scanned document because of problems with font matching in Windows.
In 'Pro' editions of Adobe Acrobat DC, this feature was updated and renamed to 'Editable Text and Images', which uses heuristics to determine the font used in the scan. The professional editions of Adobe Acrobat 9 introduced a new 'ClearScan' option to convert text in a scanned document into editable text with a custom font.
